Abstract

Nd:LaSc3(BCO3)4 (Nd:LSB) microchip crystals in combination with KTP as a frequency doubler are efficient diode-pumped frequency-doubled lasers.1,2 The main features of Nd:LSB crystals are broad absorption bands (3 run) with large absorption coefficients (36 cm−1) at 808 nm and very low losses at 1.06 μm (<3 × 10−4 cm−1). Short KTP crystals were found to be adequate for efficient intracavity doubling and are less sensitive to misalignment and temperature changes.
