Abstract

Crystalline 4-Amirtobenzophenone (ABP) is one of the best nonlinear optical materials because of its short cut-off wavelength and high optical damage threshold. It can also be phase-matched to output SHG blue light with a high deff of 50.3 p/mv at the fundamental wavelength of 870 nm.1 Due to the advantages of organic optical waveguides over bull; crystals in integrated optics applications, we have been fabricating and characterizing ABP crystalline thin films. The growth methods used include vapor deposition, melt growth, and solution growth.
