Abstract

Single-frequency light sources providing high output powers at 1.58 μm are key components of long-distance supertrunk fiber transmission links. In this report, we describe distributed feedback lasers that simultaneously provide high output powers, good quantum efficiencies, low thresholds, low noise, and operate over a wide temperature range.
