Abstract

The National Ignition Facility (NIF), currently under construction by the Department of Energy at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, is a megajoule class Nd:glass laser and target irradiation complex for investigating the physics associated with stockpile stewardship and inertial confinement fusion (IGF).
