Abstract

Even though femtosecond oscillators can deliver approximately dispersion-free laser pulses, the subsequent propagation through the amplifiers and the chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) systems introduces huge amounts of group delay dispersion, which in turn broadens the pulse and generates artifacts.
