Abstract
Functional brain imaging has led to dramatic advances in understanding the interrelation-ship between neurophysiology and brain function. Recently, it has been shown that the stimulus response of both the cortex and the hippocampus is manifested by changes in optical properties that can be measured in transmission or reflection.1,2
