Abstract

High peak power lasers using the chirped pulse amplification technique are now reaching the 100 TW level in Titsapphire laser or Nd:glass chain. Increasing the energy of the latter kind of laser leads to the petawatt level as demonstrated in 1997 at Livermore.1
