Abstract
The stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in multimode optical fiber is widely used in optical systems for improving the quality of laser beam.2,3 The quantitative estimations of the SBS gain factors and the phase conjugate (PC) hdelities for SBS require the consideration of hypersound diffraction effects, which can give rise to specific features of SBS amplification in cylindrical fibers. This report describes the PC-SBS theory for cylindrical fibers.
