Abstract

Fiber gratings are playing important roles in the optical communications and sensor systems.1 The fabrication techniques of fiber gratings have achieved greatly progress. The techniques mostly used include phase mask technique,2 holography3 and point-by-point writing technique.4 The phase mask technique has been widely used due to its advantages of lower requirements on stability of photo-imprinting apparatus and coherence of ultraviolet light source, But it also has disadvantages, for example, different phase masks are required for different wavelengths correspondingly.
