Abstract

With the progress of information technology: IT, all-solid-state high-power UV lasers are demanded for high-quality material processing such as drilling on printed wiring boards and fabricating fiber Bragg gratings. Although the allsolid-state 355-nm UV lasers are beginning to use in industrial fields, the all-solid-state 266-nm UV lasers are still under development due to the low quality of nonlinear crystals. Authors have succeeded to generate 266-nm UV power up to 23 W by fourth harmonic generation of an all-solid- state laser.1 However, the lifetime of UV powers with CsLiB6O10 (CLBO) crystals have not been discussed. In this paper, we report on the 100-hour high-power UV beam generation with high- quality CLBO crystal.
