Abstract
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) has recently been of renewed interest in silica optical fibers as a result of its application to novel tunable fiber lasers and broadband amplifier systems.1 Silica fibers however, exhibit a Raman gain that is of the same order of magnitude as the gain of parametric processes.
