Abstract
Multi-rod solid state laser system is one of the most promising approaches to generate high power laser beam, at high-beam quality, with wide range of output power.1 Therefore, the multi-rod systems play important roles in various industrial application fields. Such as, kW-class beam sources for welding, high-beam quality infrared beam sources for precise material processing, visible or UV beam sources for printed circuit board drilling.2 However, thermal lens induced variation of output beam parameter could limit the design and operation of solid- state laser devices. This is especially true, when we use focused beam for frequency conversion, fiber transmission, material processing.
