Abstract

Recently, non-linear stretching of a linearly chirped fibre Bragg gratings (FBG) has been proposed for simultaneous tuning of dispersion and dispersion slope.1,2 In this paper, we show that the second order and third order dispersion of an initially linearly chirped fibre grating can be adjusted in a predictable manner by nonlinearly stretching the FBG in a simple multipoint bending rig.
