Abstract
Recently a new microphotonic receiver with direct electrical-to-optical conversion was proposed. 1,2 The receiver uses a high-Q LiNbO, microdisk optical resonator that operates in si multaneous resonance with a RF microstrip resonator whose resonant frequency is tuned to the free spectral range (FSR) of the disk. Experimental results have demonstrated efficient modulation at GHz frequencies.3,4
