Abstract
With diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF fs- oszillators compact user-friendly fs-sources can be produced.1 The average output power of 150 mW at 90 MHz and 30 fs pulsewith is sufficient for the most direct applications. However material-processing or X-ray generation like in our case require fs-pulse energies >100 μJ at 1-100 kHz. So far only Ti:sapphire amplifiers can provide these energies. Respecting some constraints, regenerative colquiriite amplifiers can reach this too. These fs-sources, directly pumped by red diodes, often can substitute expensive, bulky and sensitive Ti:sapphire lasersystems.
