Abstract
A long-pulse Nd:YAG laser is used to produce high densities of O2 (a1∆g) in liquid oxygen. Optical absorption, oxygen excitation and partial energy disposal into heating results in the production of an atmosphere of gas phase O2 (a1∆g).
