Optimum pre-emphasis in ultra-long-haul transmission systems

Abstract

In a 40 × 10 Gb/s × 2240 km system, we experimentally show the advantages of pre-emphasis scheme that ensures minimum variations of path-averaged power among the WDM channels between the clean-up dynamic gain-flattening filters.
