Spectral dependence of modal gain and linewidth enhancement factor in InAs Quantum Dot lasers

Abstract

We find that the α-factor and the differential refractive index of quantum dot lasers were 1.4 and 4 times lower, respectively, than comparable quantum well lasers. The spectral dependence of α was also smaller.
