Linewidth enhancement factor in InGaAs quantum dot amplifiers

Abstract

The linewidth enhancement factor of an electrically–pumped InGaAs quantum–dot amplifier is measured from room to cryogenic temperature. It is found to be always below 1, even reaching negative values with increasing injection current.
