Abstract

We demonstrate that the positive and negative dispersive elements at the receiver can extend the dispersion monitoring range and sensitivity to 272 ps/nm and 6 dB for 10 Gbit/s CSRZ data, respectively. We use this monitor to demonstrate 10 Gbit/s adaptive dispersion compensation with < 0.2 dB power penalty.
