Deformations of femtosecond pulses after hundred-meter propagation in air with sharp water vapor absorption lines

Abstract

We have observed the splitting and broadening of pulses due to sharp water vapor absorption lines after they were propagated hundreds of meters in air, which agrees with calculations based on the high-resolution transmission database.
