Study of direct amplification of ultrashort laser pulses in the photolytically driven XeF(C-A) active medium

Abstract

Direct amplification of ultrashort laser pulses is demonstrated in the gaseous photolytically pumped XeF(C-A) medium. A gain of 1.6×10−3cm−1 was observed for 150 fs pulses with the center carrier wavelength of 488 nm.
