Abstract
We developed an ultrafast x-ray streak camera with time resolution better than 600 fs in multishot accumulation mode. We demonstrated that the shot-to-shot timing jitter of a streak camera can be significantly reduced by improving a fast-response deflection plates of the streak tube using a fast-risetime ramp pulse generated by a photoconductive switch. The resolution is further improved by restricting the transverse electron angular distribution.
