Abstract

An integrated Yb fiber amplifier, seeded by a fiber oscillator is demonstrated for the first time. The pulse energy is ~8nJ (~400mW), the highest to date from an integrated, singlemode fiber amplifier. The pulses are compressed to 120fs. Performance comparable to Ti:sapphire lasers is demonstrated.
