The role of strain and well-width in 635nm laser performance

Abstract

We measure the affect of tensile strain and quantum confinement on the fundamental laser parameters finding that gain and fixed current increases and transparency current decreases from 116 to 83Acm-2 due to an increasing separation of light and heavy hole sub-bands
