Abstract
The absorption spectra of several wide-gap materials in their transparency region are obtained with an excite-probe Z-scan. We find α ∼ 10−5cm−1 for ZnS at 800–900 nm, making this an excellent lens material for use in semiconductor laser cooling experiments.
