Second-harmonic generation with monolithic walkoff -compensated KTP periodic structures

Abstract

Second-harmonic generation in a periodic KTP structure made from N pairs of optically-contacted, critically phase -matched, walkoff-compensated bulk plates is theoretically and experimentally investigated. As compared with a bulk crystal an efficiency enhancemen t of 15 has been measured with N=5.
