Abstract

Novel domain-inverted guided-wave electrooptic intensity modulators with single traveling-wave electrodes are proposed and demonstrated. Adopting domain-inversion schemes to Mach-Zehnder modulators with symmetric coplanar electrodes, balanced push-pull modulation characteristics with small electrode separations are obtained.
