Wavelength Switching in a Semiconductor Fiber Ring Laser with Cascaded Fiber Bragg Gratings by Optically Injection

Abstract

A novel fiber ring laser actively and optically mode-locked by cross-gain-modulation in a semiconductor optical amplifier employed as both the gain medium and the mode-locking element of the laser is reported. Stable wavelength switched pulse trains have been obtained by optical injection.
