Modelocked fiber laser by the nonlinear polarization rotation in a Sagnac interferometer

Abstract

We describe a novel configuration of a modelocked fiber laser based on a Sagnac interferometer using the nonlinear polarization rotation effect. Stable generation of 0.7-ps pulses was observed. The adjustment procedure is simple and straightforward.
