Wideband collimator using hybrid polymer-fiber lens

Abstract

We report a novel fiber-collimator using expanded coreless silica fiber, and self assembled polymer lens. It provides a working distance over 6mm, wide wavelength band of operation, and a stable spot size over 50 micron.
