Direct frequency comb generation from a prism-less Ti:sapphire laser

Abstract

We describe a self-referenced optical frequency comb generator based on an octave spanning, prism-less Ti:sapphire laser. Current versions operate at 80 MHz and 150 MHz. System scaling to GHz repetition rates is possible.
