Experimental demonstration of refractive index scaling in photonic bandgap fibers

Abstract

We report on the experimental observation of the bandgap shift in D2O-filled hollow core photonic crystal fibers. Our results confirm a simple scaling law for bandgaps in fibers with different low-index media.
