Direct laser writing of three-dimensional Photonic Crystal templates for photonic bandgaps at telecommunication wavelengths

Using direct laser writing, for the first time Photonic Crystal templates with fundamental stop bands at telecommunication wavelengths are realized. Their measured optical properties agree well with detailed simulations, revealing their excellent optical quality.
