Highly stable ultra-short pulse generation by filtering out flat optical frequency components

Abstract

We propose a novel method for generating optical pulses featuring a compact and straightforward configuration. By filtering out flat optical frequency components generated using LiNbO3 phase and intensity modulators, 1.8-ps, 10-GHz pulses are successfully obtained.
