Absolute distance measurement with 0.1 µm accuracy using the MSTAR sensor

Abstract

The MSTAR sensor uses the phase modulation sidebands on a stable laser carrier frequency as the multiple ‘colors’ needed for absolute distance measurement. A range resolution of 0.1 µm has been achieved in the lab.
