Abstract
A new tuning scheme, coherent tuning, is proposed and confirmed by experiment for the first time. The coherent tuning is a scheme of wavelength tuning in which the wavelength of coherent light is tuned, but the wavelength of incoherent light isn't. Authors expect that this new tuning scheme can be applied to many optoelectronic devices including tunable semiconductor laser diodes.
