Abstract

InAs quantum dots, embedded in a photonic crystal (PC) waveguide, exhibited 13dB larger extinction ratio in transmittance than that embedded in a conventional waveguide, suggesting ultra -low power operation of the proposed PC-based symmetric-Mach-Zehnder-type all-optical switch.
