Analysis of wavelength-dependent DGD in optical components

Abstract

Wavelength-dependent DGD in optical components, including fiber Bragg gratings, is investigated for both NRZ and RZ modulation formats. The worst-case penalty caused by a periodic DGD has been quantified as a function of the period.
