Abstract

Spatial self-action of 100-MW 30-fs laser pulses in hollow-core photonic-crystal fibers filled with different gases is demonstrated, resulting in the formation of circularly symmetric Townes-like beam profiles and allowing channeling of high-intensity ultrashort laser pulses.
