Relativistic electron acceleration in the wavelength-cubed regime

Abstract

We report on relativistic electron acceleration from bulk copper in the wavelength-cubed regime with 0.4-mJ, 25-fs pulses focused to 1.2µm at 400Hz. Results show electrons with energies exceeding 500keV propagating toward the vacuum.
