Abstract

We report the shortest pulses (81 fs) ever produced with an Yb-doped tungstate laser using a semiconductor saturable absorber by passive mode-locking of monoclinic Yb:KLu(WO4)2 achieving an average power of 70 mW at 1046 nm.
