Supermode suppression of harmonically modelocked slab coupled optical waveguide amplifier ring laser

Abstract

We report the first harmonic modelocking of a slab coupled optical waveguide amplifier (SCOWA) generating 7.5mW without external amplification. A novel concept of supermode suppression utilizing the SCOWA itself a s an intracavity etalon was demonstrated.
