Abstract

A compact on-chip ultrashort-pulse shaper is demonstrated using fiber gratings and micromachined electro-thermal actuators. Programmable arbitrary-waveform generation can be achieved in a large time window form ~10-ps to ~1-ns with femtosecond or picosecond optical pulses.
