Complete Modal Decomposition for Optical Waveguides

Abstract

We present a novel approach to complete modal decomposition of the vectorial field in optical waveguide based on the phase retrieval algorithm. Experimental confirmation is provided by examining mode interaction in a photonic bandgap fiber.
