Wide Field of View Image Amplifier Based on Yb-Doped Multi-Core Phosphate Optical Fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate a 3×3 optical image amplifier array based on high gain per unit length ytterbium-doped phosphate glass fiber. Doped cores, or pixels, are on a 14-µm pitch and deliver 30 dB gain at 1017nm.
