Highly sensitive fluorescence detection from optimized liquid-core ARROW waveguides

Abstract

We report loss improvement and fluorescence detection of integrated liquid-core optical ARROW waveguides. Waveguide loss is reduced to 0.33/cm and fluorescence from as low as 500 molecules with collection efficiencies up to 15.6% was detected.
