Extended Ultra-Flat Bands in Photonic Crystals

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

We create one-dimensional extended ultra-flat bands with relative frequency widths below 1% in two-dimensional photonic crystals. Caused by an interior saddle point, these flat bands lead to an enhanced density of states and improved self-collimation.
