Sparse and Composite Optical Lattices: Implications for Live Cell Imaging

Abstract

New classes of optical lattices are described that yield large arrays of highly confined intensity maxima of selectable wavelength-normalized periodicity. Implications for high-speed, high-resolution live cell imaging and single molecule spectroscopy are discussed.
