Spectral Characterization of a Near-Room Temperature Continuous Wave Quantum Cascade Laser for Nitric Oxide Detection at 5.5 µm

Abstract

We report power, line width and mode purity for a cw 5.5 µm quantum cascade laser at −26 C. We detect atmospheric NO with high sensitivity (0.5 ppb Hz−1/2) using rapid sweep, direct absorption spectroscopy.
